Klaus is a Spanish animated film that all families should see at home, as it conveys a series of very important and valuable messages for the personal and vital development of people.
Since its inception in November 2019, it has been well received by the public and received many positive reviews. In fact, it won multiple awards and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 2019 Oscars.
All these recognitions are due, among other reasons, to the original way in which the director and screenwriter, Sergio Pablos, explains the legend of Santa Claus. Haven’t you seen this magical movie yet? What are you waiting for ?
Film synopsis
Klaus tells the story of a spoiled young man named Jesper, used to living well without working. His father, in charge of the postal service, decides to teach him a lesson by sending him as a postman to Smeerensburg, a cold and isolated town located on the Arctic Circle. There, he must fulfill a mission so as not to be disinherited. This mission consists of delivering 6,000 letters in one year.
At first, Jesper thinks the challenge is simple. However, when he arrives in the city, he learns that its inhabitants live in a permanent conflict, divided and confronted in two groups, the Ellingboe and the Krum, so they never exchange letters between them.
This situation despairs the young postman, unable to fulfill his mission. But one day, everything changes. By chance, he meets Klaus , an old man who lives alone on top of the mountain and has a house full of toys he has made.
Due to a series of circumstances, these two characters begin to work together, in order to distribute at night, and without anyone seeing them, toys to all these children who write a letter asking for them.
The little ones start to share their gifts and play together, regardless of which group they belong to. This is a great lesson for adults, because in the end they manage to put aside the differences and live in peace with all their neighbors.
Also, receiving a large number of letters, Jesper quickly ends his mission. But when he achieves his goal, everything changed – he’s a better person who cares about others and strives to make others happy. And besides, Smeerensburg has become a wonderful city to live in.
Klaus: a film with a very important message
The most important message Klaus gives us is that maintaining a good coexistence is always possible, it is enough for people to treat each other with respect and use dialogue to solve problems.
Unfortunately, as in the film, sometimes adults, with their behaviors and comments of intolerance, hatred and rejection towards others, make children grow up by assuming antisocial behaviors.
Adults, and especially mothers and fathers, are role models for children. We must therefore try to take care of the attitude that manifests itself in front of the little ones and try to transmit certain ethical and moral values, such as acceptance and respect for diversity.
Other lessons from the film
Likewise, this film, through the situations experienced by the different characters throughout the story, leaves many other lessons on issues related to:
- Self improvement.
- Forgiveness.
- The effort.
- The importance of not judging.
- Altruism.
So don’t wait any longer and get your family together to watch this wonderful animated film together.
